Easter Holidays

Unfortunately we had to cancel last weeks fabric flower demonstration because of illness and that is also the reason there are no pictures from last week.

This week was the last before the Easter holidays (we are back on the 12th April) and it was a normal Friay social afternoon. Liz brought her beautiful houses that will be part of a large project in Swansea. Ruth brought some pages of a fabric book she is making based on her father-in-laws carvings.

Happy Easter everyone!

Birds, Carvings and Experiments

Friday 8th March was a normal Friday social afternoon. We all got on well with our stitching. Carolyn is still stitching her bird. It is sometimes nice to stitch something that is almost painting by numbers especially with all the talking that goes on on a Friday! Ruth is stitching an experimental book based on her father-in-laws carvings. She brought in 2 pages to ask for help and was offered lots of ideas.

Kaleidoscopes

We are doing a competition based on kaleidoscopes for a regional day and we are nearly all desperate for inspiration. Robi kindly said she would run a brainstorming session for us and I think it went rather well. Most of us seem to have come away with something we can use. Thank you Robi!

Friday 22nd February I had visitors so I can't tell you all the things that happened because I wasn't there!

Friday 15th February was half term, so there was no meeting.

Sorry for the delay posting this.

The photos are of Margaret's kaleidoscope entry, Jill's angels (yes she is still making them!) and a piece by Liz that will be part of a project the guild were asked to help with

April's Textile Collection

Sorry there was no post two weeks ago, I didn't go to the meeting that week, so there was nothing to report :@)

Last Friday April showed us some of the beautiful textiles she has collected from her travels. Unfortunately I only have three pictures to show and they have not come out very well. Each piece was so different to the others and they all had a story to tell. It was a lovely afternoon.

ATCs and Workshop Bags

Robi showed us how to make ATCs by using up our stash of samples. She showed us how to make a viewing window to pick out a section of our unused samples to give them a new lease of life. She also brought some ATCs with her to show and inspire us and gave us ideas as to how to display them.

Beverly also brught her bags to show us what we will be making in her workshop on the 9th March. Please contact me if you would like to come along ruthnorbury@ntlworld.com

Snow Day

Sadly we had to cancel the first meeting of the year because of the snow. Hopefully we will be OK next week (25th) to learn about ATCs with Robi (Artists Trading Cards)
