Ecclesiastical Embroidery

This Friday Carolyn brought a collection of ecclesiastical embroidery for us to look at. The work was beautiful and a great inspiration to the group. There were many 'oohs and ahhs' to be heard!

Next week we will be looking at Catherine's cushions

Ribbon Roses

This afternoon we made ribbon roses, it is something I have never done before and was a lot of fun to learn. I have to admit I forgot to take a photo of the group today, so I will use a picture of my rose which is not at all representative of the groups efforts. Sorry everyone!

Next week we are having a talk from Carolyn about ecclesiastical embroidery which will be very interesting I am sure.

The Embellisher

We had our demonstration of the embellisher machine, it was a great afternoon and it was a new tool for many of our members. There are rumblings now about saving up to buy one for the branch!

I have been sorting out our website and it is coming on quite well. It is exciting to see where it will lead Embroiderers' Guild Swansea Website

Next Friday we are learning ribbon embroidery

Embroiderers' Guild Swansea Arrives on the Internet

The Embroiderers' Guild Swansea is a local group that meets once a week and is open to people of all ages and all skills who share a love of embroidery. We meet every Friday in term time in Bryn House, Swansea, UK from 2-4 and welcome new members. This is our first adventure into the world of blogging. I hope that we can use this to inform you of all the exciting things going on at the Embroiderers' Guild in Swansea.

Next Friday (11th November) we will be using 2 embellishing machines. One cost around £200 and the other the grand total of £4, so this will be an interesting experiment! This is the first time I think that we will be using the embellishing machines and so it will be rather exciting.

Friday 19th November we are having a lesson on ribbon embroidery
